Great new wine reading resource

A few other bloggers out there have already mentioned this, so you may have come across it, but there is a new list of "Top" wine blogs and sites for your perusal.

Check out wine.alltop.com

I won't brag about my inclusion as I admit I sent a begging letter to have my site added (no shame!), nor will I mention where you can find me as the list moves about as more sites are added.

However, as a place to start your exploration of wine content online you could definitely learn a lot from this list of sites (and a pretty cool layout, too).

There's another issue with alltop* and othere like it. Because they are just as likely to stop people coming to your blog as to direct people to it.

Just hover over a headline and you can read most and often all the post without following the link.

Are these aggregators good for bloggers? The aggregator basically gets free content that they can wrap their adverts around. Your adverts sit unread, no one comes to post comments.

*alltop is not the worst, there are others that take the entire posting but alltop does take a substantial chunk

I agree in principle. Aggregators end up stealing traffic no matter how much they claim to link back to your site. Alltop is pretty OK as the link gives you enough information to allow you to decide to follow it or not, but is not really a solution for reading all the posts.

What you have to do is write engaging content to draw people to your own site (maybe suggesting attractive links in the sidebar or comments section)

There are a lot of sites out there showing book video. BookVideoTV, BookTelevision and of course CSPAN, but I like how BN.com and Reader's Entertainment TV have specific genre channels and original shows. There's just more to see and I can be specific in what genre I'm interested in. Anyone else watch online tv? Reader's Entertainment
